A cicada is preserved in resin within the polymer clay covers of this handmade book. Copper mesh accents the back of the resin well and the back cover of the book. The lighter elements were created with the artist's own celadon technique. Sandpaper cloth bridges between the covers and provides a guide for the stitching.
The book is bound with a traditional long stitch. A variety of archival papers fill the text block. The journal was recreated in 2006 when Geraldine was featured on an episode of "Craft Lab" on the DIY network. The first air date was January 30, 2007.
